Aurillac – Jussac
(142,0 km / 119,5 km + 22,5 km)Although it’s quite rare to start a stage race with a category 1 climb, it’s not the Puy Mary, which could make the day too hard for the sprinters.

The key point the stage is more likely the  Côte de Roquenatou (3,6 km à 7,0%) which will be climbed twice today, 45 and 18 km before the finish. Because it’s might be a bit hight for the sprinters, even when it’s still 18 km to go, I guess, we will see a solo or a small group attack arriving home today.

If not, thera are still sprinters, who will suffer lass then the others on the last climb of the stage.

Stage favourites: Nils Politt (Katusha-Alpecin), Sonny Colbrelli (Bahrain-Merida), Michał Kwiatkowski (INEOS), Philippe Gilbert and Julian Alaphilippe (Deceuninck-Quick Step), Sam Bennett (BORA-hansgrohe)
