A brand new ascent on the 4th stage is going to determine the result of the 50th edition of Etoile de Bessèges.
Only the 3rd one from the five stages is tailored for sprinters, but the first rider is worth to mention in this preview is one of that kind: Matteo Moschetti (Trek-Segafredo), who had already won 2 races this year. Looking at the startlist of this event he is going to have not really strong rivals on that particular day.
The race ends with an individual time trial, as usual. The final kilometers of the 11 km long course is 5% steep, this is going to be one of the decisive parts of the race for sure.
Another key moment is the brand new uphill finish on Stage 4, which changes the style of the entire race. Mont Bouquet is a 4,6 km long mountain with an average slope of 9,1%.
Fortunately, there are several good climbers in the peloton. Nicolas Edet (Cofidis), Lilian Calmejane (Total Direct Energie), Pierre Latour, Benoît Cosnefoy (AG2R), Valentin Madounas (Groupama-FDJ) or Diego Rosa (Arkra-Samsic) can be the main protagonists of the race easily.
