2011 was a successful year for Michele Scarponi. Besides Giro del Trentino, he won Volta a Catalunya, gained a 4rd place at Tirreno-Adriatico and a 4th at Giro del Sardegna. Also, he is the winner of that year’s Giro d’Italia ( after Alberto Contador was stripped of the title).
