This website was originally created as the English version of Anita Pethő’s Hungarian road cycling blog TOURázzunk együtt in 2019.

Hello, my name is Anita Pethő (Petho, if your device can’t read the unique Hungarian letter at the end of my surname), a literary critic by profession, cultural historian by passion, and expert of historical fiction.

I started blogging about road cycling comperitions in 2009. Creating content on the historical aspect of this sport was just about shaing some kind of curiosities. For more than a decade I was focusing more on the current events and affairs of the world of professional road cycling, the shift happened only a few years ago, when I dived deeper and deeper in the past events of road cycling.

Although I always try to expand the context of any kind of research topic, this website is predominantly about stories from the past of road cycling competitions. Both about the big legendary moments and the small, unique ones.

Road cycling as sport gains its uniqueness by its circumstances, that its story unfold at the public places of everyday life, therefore its history is different too.

It’s more connected both to the big (politics, economics, etc) and small (everyday life) histories beyond the sport.
